Aontas Learner Forum

Students from the City of Dublin ETB Adult Education Service Barry Road Finglas and Cabra where in attendance at the learner forum.

These #LearnerVoice events enable FET learners to directly comment on and influence their educational experience.

Seventy-two learners shared their experiences, discussed their learning needs, and provided recommendations. The learners’ experiences were largely positive, with praise for the benefits of supportive tutors and peer-to-peer learning.

Learners would like to see increased recognition of FET, more course progression pathways, and increased training options in high-demand areas, such as green jobs.

Sneha Sarcar, Learner Support and Engagement Officer at City of Dublin ETB opened the Forum by telling learners: “We want to make sure we are meeting your needs and will support you in your learning. We need you to be part of decision making in your classrooms and centres.”

We thank City of Dublin ETB and SOLAS for their ongoing support of the Forum.
